RAGTIME: DAY PROGRAM FOR SENIORS

RAGTime (Recreation, Activities and Games) is a day program offered to senior citizens and disabled adults in the community. There are 61 local residents enrolled in the program with 35 attending on any given day. In partnership with the Carl Sanders YMCA, seniors participate in water aerobics and other physical fitness activities two days a week.

This program keeps local seniors and potential shut-ins socialized, active and vibrant!

Program components include:
Computer/Technology classes, Arts and crafts, health fairs and mental health partnerships, socialization, field trips, informative workshops and bingo.
Agape also provides free transportation to and from the program.

Extreme Bedroom Makeover

In learning more about our families, Agape discovered that many of the children in our programs had little to no furniture at all.  Agape’s Extreme Bedroom Makeover began in 2010, with volunteer teams providing new paint, new bedrooms and a whole new outlook for 196 children in need and counting! EBM has won the Carl V. Patton President’s Award for Community Partnership from Georgia State University.

Sponsoring volunteer teams paint and decorate the bedrooms of children living in an impoverished area of northwest Atlanta, most of whom have never had their own bed before.

Great Backpack Giveaway

Each year, Agape collects and distributes new backpacks filled with school supplies for 2,400+ under-served students in the community. We hope to team up with you, again, this year to make this event a huge success. Volunteer sign-ups will begin in June and companies who sponsor will have a pre-designated number of slots. Once you sign up in June, you will be contacted by the first week in July with further details.

Summer Camp

Over the summer, Agape provides 8 weeks of enriching summer camp experiences. Camp JumpSmart is an academic preparatory camp for rising Kindergarten-2nd Graders focusing on reading comprehension and math basics. GoGirlGo! & FIT Camp provide active lifestyle-based camps for rising 3rd-7th grade boys and girls. Elevate is our teen camp through which rising 8th-12th graders experience outdoor adventures, college tours, and participate in finance & entrepreneurship courses.

We serve breakfast and lunch to each of these summer camp programs Monday through Friday and offer numerous food volunteer opportunities to support our ongoing mission to provide nutritious meals to kids.

Holiday Gift Store

Join us for the annual Agape Holiday Gift Store which in partnership with you, provides gifts for over 600 children from under-served families each year. Our gymnasium will transform into a winter wonderland store staffed by volunteers for two days of “shopping”, gift wrapping, holiday music, cheer and most of all hope.
