Without hope children living in poverty are likely to continue the generational cycle. With the hope and tools Agape gives, the generational cycle of poverty is broken.
What’s Happening at Agape
We need your help to ensure students begin the 2021-2022 school year prepared to succeed! Each year, Agape collects and distributes new backpacks filled with school supplies for 2,500+ under-served students in the community. We hope to team up with you, again, to make this year’s drive-through event a huge success.
Volunteer sign-ups will begin in July and companies who sponsor will have a pre-designated number of volunteer spaces reserved.
In 2015, the True Inspiration Awards were founded to honor the generous spirit and legacy of Chick-fil-A’s founder, S. Truett Cathy. Each year, Chick-fil-A honors and supports community organizations from across the U.S. and Canada that are making a positive impact in the areas of hunger, homelessness and education. Well, this year, we are thrilled to announce that Agape was named one of this year’s Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Award recipients! This grant will support our efforts as we strive to help students discover, embrace and achieve their full potential. Thank you John Diamond, operator for the Howell Mill and West Midtown locations, for nominating us!

In partnership with Julie’s Dream, Agape students traveled more than 2,641 miles for outdoor experiences in 2019. This included a sponsored trip for 20 teen girls to take a fall hiking trip to New Hampshire in the White Mountains (Joe Dodge Lodge). This once in a lifetime trip was described as a tranquil experience where students could hear the small pebbles cascading beneath their feet as they anxiously stepped onto the next big rock on their way to their next adventure.
