New Volunteer Process for All Agape Volunteers

 In Current Events

We hope you had a wonderful summer and that you’re as excited about the start of another school year as we are!

In an effort to ensure the continued safety of our children and to further adopt best practices in working with them, we have a new volunteer process in place for all new and existing Homework Buddies and Reading Tutors. We have been blessed not to have any problems as it relates to the safety of our children, but want to ensure that trend continues. We hope you understand and appreciate our new process and we look forward to having each of you return for the 2015-2016 school year.

New Volunteer Process:
  • All new and existing Homework Buddies and Reading Tutors must have an annual criminal background check.
  • All new and existing Homework Buddies and Reading Tutors at the Trinity location, must agree to the Trinity Child Protection Policy.
  • All new and existing Homework Buddies and Reading Volunteers 18 years and older are required to complete the Darkness to Light Training.  For more information about the training, please click here.

The Darkness to Light Training will be offered during the volunteer orientations at Trinity on September 9 and at Agape on September 10 free of charge. Please click here to RSVP by September 2 for the orientation and training so that will be sure to order enough materials for all participants.

The training can also be completed online for $10 if you are unable to attend the site orientations on September 9th or 10th. To register for online training, click here.

A copy of your Darkness to Light Training certificate must be emailed to Dominique Tate (Education/Volunteer Coordinator) upon completion of the training.

If you have previously completed the Darkness to Light Training, please email Dominique Tate a copy of your certificate and you will not be required to attend our training.
