Reading Readiness is an early reading initiative for rising first and second graders. It occurs over a 6 week period on Mondays, Wednesday, and Thursdays only.
Dates: Monday, June 5 – Thursday, July 13 (Agape Bolton Road Location)
Program Hours: 10am – 12pm
In it’s second summer, Reading Readiness served 30 young children in a free, full day program for three weeks. The program provided reading lessons, crafts and arts projects, free transportation to and from the program each day, units on nutrition, cooking, plants, and a healthy lunch.
Following Reading Readiness, we offer a nine-day comprehensive camp for rising first and second graders that covers an entire school day filled with reading, math, science, cooking and arts and crafts!
Dates: Monday, July 17 – Thursday, July 27 (St. Anne’s Episcopal Church)
Program Hours: 8:30am – 1:30pm
*Friday, July 28 – Volunteers come to clean up/break down*
Reading Readiness and Camp Jump Smart is staffed by Agape employees, dedicated volunteers from St. Anne’s Episcopal Church volunteers from the National Charity League and high school students from Agape who work one on one with the younger children.
