An annual drive to provide backpacks and school supplies to over 2,000 kids.

Each year, Agape collects and distributes new backpacks filled with school supplies for 2,000 under-served students in pre-school through high school. Get involved by holding your own backpack drives or sponsoring a backpack filled with supplies for $50 per child!
Community support for the Great Backpack Give-Away continues to exceed our imagination each year. In 2016, Agape provided backpacks filled with school supplies for more than 2,000 children!
On average, 45 volunteers organize and execute the event. Volunteer teams from N3, Novelis, The National Charity League–Buckhead Chapter, N3, Arby’s Foundation, and Kleenex worked on this event in 2016.
Donations of backpacks & school supplies accepted at Agape from July 10-14 10am-4pm (Monday-Friday)
Prep Day 1 Wednesday, July 26
-10am-1pm-15 volunteers will unpack and organize shipment of supplies and backpacks into the downstairs community center.
-1pm-4pm- 15 Volunteers will sort, stuff and stage backpacks and school supplies in preparation of distribution day.
Prep Day 2 Thursday, July 27
-10am-1pm-15 volunteers will sort, stuff and stage backpacks and school supplies in preparation of distribution day.
-1pm-4pm- 15 volunteers will set-up event space with tables and bicycle fences, hang up signs, etc in preparation of distribution day.
Distribution Day Friday, July 28
-8:00am-1pm-20 volunteers will distribute backpacks and assist recipients in choosing backpacks, manage traffic, replenish distribution tables, clean-up and breakdown.
